There’s an older shed, and a newer shed nearby, both used by the same farming and grazing family west of Moree. There’s a third shed too, a new shed, but that’s not part of this story. The two older sheds are the same but different, the way that buildings constructed for the same purpose have similarities. They are different in the way that usage, materials and architecture change the feel in a space, and its character.

The On-Site Visit - May 2022

May 2022, shortly after the terrible floods in Lismore, I travelled to Moree. The prep sketches for this series were part of the healing from the floods, even if it took me too many years to complete the studio collection. (I wasn’t to know that the flood would take so much time from my previously almost hedonistic lifestyle: that there would be more roadblocks including needing to step away from my studio practice while I cared for my aged mother). This project has been a lifeline, a reminder that this important part of my practice is still both vital and important
