“Charlotte Plains” is south east of Cunnamulla. It hosts the famous artesian bore baths. Literal baths out in the paddock beside the bore drain. Here’s more Charlotte Plains Cunnamulla  It’s a great place to visit.
In 1984 I was working in north Qld as a governess for the fabulous Robyn Russell, whose family own “Charlotte Plains”. She asked me to do a painting of the shed there, where she grew up. That painting is now in the station museum, you can see it, if you visit. Forty years later I went to Charlotte Plains and created this body of work that was a celebration of the career changing request back in the day. Work from this series was exhibited in Toowoomba when I was the feature artist at the 2024 Downlands Art Show.Â
“Waghorn” is west of Stanthorpe in the area known as “the Traprock – a fine wool, and stone fruit growing area. This series of paintings were created in response to generational change in the family that had been there for generations.Â
“Gulgo” is in the NSW central west. A friend of my brother grew up there – she’s spent her life living half time in Sydney as school girl, uni student, teacher, and the other half, as farmer, on her “holidays”.Â
